Christianity is one of the largest and most popular religions, it started with Jesus Christ, he allegedly was born 2018 years ago, and then, for Christians, years count was reset and the year of his birth became year 0.

Buddhism, where does it come from

Human beings  have always felt the undeniable need to believe in something higher than us, something to explain the things we consider to be unexplainable, there are a tendency to avoid the feeling of things under no control whatsoever, we need to believe that nothing is random, that there is a higher purpose for everything, and that’s how religions were born.

First religions were polytheistic, that means, they believed in several gods and goddesses which ruled several aspects of nature that people couldn’t explain by themselves, religions evolved step by step until now, we have some big religions which have the majority of population in them, and some small religions.

One of this large religions is Buddhism,  it has a lot of believers, and it has more and more each day since people is looking something more to fill themselves with spirituality and enrich their lives, but, what’s Buddhism and where it comes from?

Is a religion and a philosophy widely known all around the world based in the teachings of Buddha (in Sanskrit it means “Awakened One”), he was a teacher from Ancient India who lived

between the mid-6th and mid-4th centuries BCE, there are several versions about his life but according some texts he was born as Siddhārtha Gautama in Lumbini and grew up in Kapilavasthu.

When Buddhism appeared in northeastern India, that place was experiencing a period of intense religious activity and the new religion succeeded, after the founder’s death, Buddhism divided into two major branches: Theravada, which in Pali means: “The School of the Elders”) and Mahayana which in Sanskrit means: “The Great Vehicle”.

Buddhism is the world’s fourth-largest religion, with over 520 million followers, Buddhists believe in many things such as rebirths, and in meditation as a vehicle to reach enlightenment and wisdom, in 20th century, this religion gained many adepts in Western countries including several celebrities.

The Buddhists believe that following its path, its practices will lead to a spiritual development that they will change themselves and will acquire or develop qualities as wisdom, awareness, kindness and respect for all life

The Buddhism does not include the idea of worshipping a creator god and, for that reason,  some people do not see it as a religion, but the fact is that it is one of the most followed ones maybe because of the peace and love that it promotes as well as the respect for all living beings in the world.

Where does the Islam comes from?

Islam is a monotheistic religion that is based on the book of the Koran. His faithful believe in Allah (God) and in the Prophet Muhammad as his messenger. The Koran, in fact, was dictated by Allah to Muhammad through the archangel Gabriel, according to Islamic tradition.

The faithful of Islam are the Muslims, which means in Arabic: “submissive” or “submissive” (obviously to whom they submit to Allah. For Muslims, Jesus Christ is not the son of God, but rather a prophet like Abraham, Moses and Noah, among many others.

Islam appears in the Arabian Peninsula or Arabian Peninsula, located in Asia, which is the largest in the world (with 300,000 km2) and where a hot and desert climate predominates.

The main personage of this religion is Mohammed or Muhammad, is considered the last Prophet (a “prophet” is that person who is messenger of God, speaks in his name and explains what is his desire and his will) He is born in Arabia in the bosom From a family of wealthy merchants, As a young man he comes in contact with Christian missionaries who teach him about religion. He claims that Angel Gabriel appeared to him who gave him the mission to spread to men a new religion, Islam, during these angelic visits, which continued for about 23 years until the death of Muhammad, the angel supposedly revealed to Muhammad the words of God. These revelations dictated include the Koran, the holy book of Islam.

Muhammad begins to preach in the cities of Mecca and La Medina and despite the opposition of idolaters (those who believed in various gods) from 622 AD. C, Muhammad initiates the massive expansion and force of Islamism. At his death he had conquered the entire Arabian Peninsula.

After conquering the entire Arabian Peninsula Islam expanded militarily throughout the world conquering the entire Middle East: Persia, Mesopotamia, Phenicia and Israel. Invading and dominating Egypt and all of North Africa. Arriving in Europe through the Iberian Peninsula where conquered almost everything and stayed there for 700 years. It expanded to the east, reaching even the western borders of China, creating a vast empire (the Arab Empire). As big as the Roman Empire or that of Alexander the Great and that went from Spain to India.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. The latest statistics claim that currently has 1.3 billion believers today.

why do christians worship on sunday

Christianity is one of the three monotheistic religions that exist in the world today. It is currently one of the most widespread religions with millions of followers and is based on the teachings of Christ, they believe in a single God. The largest Christian groups are divided into: the Roman Catholic Church, whose believers are called Catholics.

The Christian faith teaches that our life is a journey and that, in this case, death is a step we have for eternal life. In the case of those who follow the biblical teachings of Christ, life will be happy and eternal.

Such teachings that create the true support of the faith of Christians are described in the Bible, which in turn, is divided into two fundamental parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Many people in the religious world believe that Christians should worship God on Sabbath and not Sunday, the reason why they believe that way is because, simply and simply, they cannot distinguish between the Old and New Testaments.

The fulfillment of the Sabbath is part of the Law that was given exclusively to Israel; it was included in his covenant with God, which provided their redemption. Under the law, the people of Israel were commanded not to do any activity on the seventh day of the week (Sabbath), except to rest and praise God (Exodus 20: 8-11). That day, it served as a reminder that God had created the Earth in six days and rested on the seventh (Genesis 2: 2-3), that He had freed them from the bondage of Egypt (Deuteronomy 5: 14-15), and that His promised Messiah would bring the true rest of redemption (Genesis 3: 14-15).

Save the Sabbath it was a Command Given to a Specific People, the purpose of the Sabbath has already been fulfilled and does not apply to us; Within the New Testament there is ample evidence that the Seventh Day or the Sabbath (or Sabbath Days) is no longer a requirement.

The New Testament The First Day of the Week (Sunday) is given importance because: Christ was resurrected on the first day of the week, Christ appeared to His apostles on the first day of the week, the Holy Spirit came and the church was established on the first day of the week, Christians offer (I Cor 16: 1-2) and participate in the sacrament every first day of the week.
